…I’m still here and well. If you are a sports fan, you know that baseball season has started and hockey and basketball are in playoffs. As a result of these three sports going on at the same time, my work life has been busy. Everyone said it was going to be crazy but I’m pretty sure I didn’t brace myself quite enough. Holy Lord, it’s been intense! I’ve got three teams in playoffs, the Lakers, Kings and Coyotes. This means lots of last minute work that has to be done quickly… and as much as the clients would prefer them to go all the way, I can’t wait until they lose! Haha. Everyone who said it was going to get crazy have also told me that our quiet time is right around the corner. I’m definitely looking forward to that!

A website that I check daily, no matter how busy I am, is the notebook doodles. The author of this blog is the cutest thing ever. I love her doodles, her nail polish, her food, her shoes… pretty much everything. I love quotes and think it’s really neat how she puts them on pictures. I love that she shares glimpses of her life with the blogosphere.

The Beginning…

We’ve been in LA for two weeks now. Wow. It’s crazy. I still can’t believe we live on a street lined with palm trees! While I was outside watering the plants this morning, the whole ‘I live here’ concept sunk in even further. I mean, the weather, the ocean, the ginormous plants and flowers, the different foods and cultures… all around me. I love it.

The past two weeks have been filled with work. Work, work and unpacking the house work. I’m not going to talk about unpacking because you all know how enjoyable that task is. Blek. My job is much more interesting. Day-to-day I’m at home, getting ready for sporting events that our trucks are at. What does that mean? I work for Mobile TV Group. We have several trucks all over the country that are basically rented by our clients to park at stadiums so they can get their games on the air. I’m the coordinator for LA and work with a couple of the trucks, and their engineers, out here. The other day I went to Angel Stadium to “meet” the guys (I had talked to them on the phone at Vyvx before), talk to the stadium guy and meet as many people from the crew as I could. It was tons of fun.

Once everyone was completely busy, I went to see how close I could get to the game. There was some baseball player watching a monitor and then stretching. I thought it was weird that he was there but just kinda stood near him and watched the game. After I left, I looked him up and found out that he’s the pitcher. Too bad I didn’t know to be impressed. Heh heh.

Besides working and unpacking, the only other thing we’ve done was to cruise over to see the house from “The Wedding Singer”. I found out that it is a few minutes from our house the other night on the Internet. It’s one of my favorite movies! I was giggly as I quickly took the picture because I was very much aware that this is someone’s house. Hehe.

I would have to say it’s pretty well known that I have a potty mouth. Or maybe not. I guess I do filter my language around most people but if I’m comfortable with you… I let it all hang out. It’s just funny to me. I never cuss in anger, it’s just a part of my everyday language. It makes me laugh. It makes others laugh too. Plus, some people think I’m badass.

Today I caught wind of this blog on Twitter. I’m not sure who the blogger is or what she normally writes about but I love that post. Listen to the clips… you can’t help but laugh. Or at least I couldn’t.

My favorite is the last one. I’m always saying “I ain’t yo b!*tch” to my co-workers. Gotta hold my own amongst the men, you know. On the rare occasion where they want something, instead of telling me to do something, I’m going to bust out that quote. I can’t wait!

I saw on the Grammy’s last night that Obama won one for his audio book back when he was a Senator. Awesomeness.

Hotel Uniform

A large part of my shift at work is spent talking to customers on the phone. I check-in production trucks, let customers know when their feeds go up, answer any trouble calls during their feeds and make sure they have enough time near the end of their feeds so they don’t go off the air. I recognize a lot of our customers’ voices because I talk to them daily but there are some who I don’t talk to very often.

The other day I was speaking to one of our Japanese customers and at the end of our conversation I asked for his name.

“HU… hotel uniform.”

Haha. Isn’t that cute? Most of them go by their initials and they are so courteous that they give us an example. They usually give examples like “tango foxtrot” so ”hotel uniform” was definitely a treat. I laughed my head off!
