I thought it was time to recommend a guy’s music this time around. I really love Landon Pigg. Matt introduced me to him a few months ago but I hadn’t really started listening to him until more recently. I find his stuff to be so emotional. I like the EP better than the album and I listen to it over and over.

My favorite song is ‘Great Companion’. It makes me want to watch a tragic movie and cry my eyes out. I get quiet and contemplative when I listen to his stuff. I like that actually. I’ve been quietly contemplating a lot of things lately and his music is perfect background music for my life right now. Check him out!

I Heart Missy Higgins

If you aren’t already a fan of Missy Higgins, you must check her out soon! She’s been a favorite of mine for several months. I love her voice, her Aussie accent, piano, guitar, her songwriting. Pretty much everything about her music rocks. I listen to her all the time. Her music is soothing, sweet and chill. I love her.

There isn’t one song that I dislike, but if I had to narrow it down to my favorites, I’d choose Warm Whispers, Forgive Me, Sugarcane, All For Believing, Where I Stood, Ten Days, Katie, Don’t Ever and The River.

I Heart Maria Taylor

An artist that I listen to over and over again is Maria Taylor. I have Lynn Teeter Flower and love it. It’s a really chill album and is always over before I want it to be. Sometimes I put it on repeat and just let it play for hours. There are a lot of albums that I’ll be listening to where I suddenly hear something loud, annoying or weird, so I’ll skip the song. This never happens with her. My favorite song is Clean Getaway. Happy listening!

I thought I’d start writing posts from time to time on what music I’m listening to. It won’t happen all that often since I’m “one of those” who listens to the same stuff over and over until everyone goes crazy. And then I keep on listening. Haha. I normally find an album that I love and listen to it, almost exclusively, for a month. After that, I start looking for a new one.

Meiko is an artist I can’t get enough of. I have been listening to her album for a couple of months now. Her stuff is chill and easy to listen to. I get into it no matter my mood. She was indie until she signed a deal last month, so you might start hearing her name around. Listen to her. She rocks.

I have this really awesome ‘chill tunes’ playlist that I’ve been listening to tonight. I’ve got a little bit of everything on there: Damien Rice, Incubus, Sparklehorse, Jem, Tina Dico, Coldplay, Corinne Bailey Rae, Paolo Nutini, Tristan Prettyman, Martha Wainwright…

So, I was sitting here a minute ago when “Ass like that” by Eminem came on. Ha! I’m not sure how that got on there! I just started singing along. I caught my husband looking at me like I was some freak of nature. Hehe. Then he busted out singing some worship song. Okay, okay, I’ll skip it!

Let’s Run Off and Join the Circus!

Okay, so we’re not joining the circus, but we are going to see one!

A few days ago, when I mentioned us going on a big date, I was talking about us going to see a Cirque du Soleil show in Seoul. I saw that they were in Seoul for a little while, mentioned it to Matt and he insisted we go. I wanted to make sure we could get tickets before mentioning it here. We bought tickets yesterday for an evening show on May 12th. We’ll be seeing Quidam. We are so excited!

We’ve only seen one show before, Les Miserables, in Tulsa (thanks Mary!). I really wasn’t sure if I’d like theater or not but I was excited to go anyway. I was so impressed, not only with the technical end of it, but also with the story. The cast did so well. I was immediately drawn in and absolutely loved it. There’ve been a few shows that’ve come through Seoul, but I never felt like going. When I saw Cirque du Soleil was going to be here, I definitely wanted to go! We’re so excited to go! We’re going to get all dressed up, have dinner and then see the show. Wooo!!
