We’re going to see Casino Royale tonight. It’ll be our first time going to a movie theater in Korea. I know of a few pros and cons… I’ll start with two and then update after I’ve actually experienced it!
Pros
They sell beer
Cons
They sell squid jerky
Update- Ok. We loved the movie. I’ve never been a Bond fan. I’ve only ever seen a couple of them and I wasn’t too impressed. I know a lot of people are upset about this one but I actually loved it. Now I’d like to go back and watch the old ones to compare and see what they were all about.
Also, on those pros and cons. We went to a newer theater than the one my co-worker told us about and they didn’t have any beer for sell. Not a big deal for me because I don’t like beer but I was looking forward to getting pictures of the guys drinking one in the theater.
They didn’t have any squid jerky either. What the heck? I have to admit that the main reason we’ve steered clear of Korean movie theaters is because someone told us that they stunk of squid and that people talk through the entire movie (because they are just reading the subtitles not actually listening). Well, no one talked. Excluding the fact that the screen was kinda smallish, it felt like a theater back home. It was tons of fun!

Ha ha ha ha!
Have fun…I barely remember the last time I was at a theatre…
yeah, they don’t call it squid jerky but that’s basically what it is. dried out meat. yuck! i’ll get a picture and post it… it’ll be super appetizing for you!
squid jerky… can’t wait to see the picture… have you tried it? what’s it like?
kristin- i’ve never eaten it because i can’t get over the smell! i’ve eaten squid in different dishes but never the dried out stuff. i’m thinking a care package containing bits of squid jerky may be in order.
