allingoodtime

I didn’t intentionally put this blog on the back burner, it just kinda happened.  We’ve been busier lately and I’ve had to spend more time working on things.  I plan to blog more once I have a handle on all that I’m juggling right now but I am happy to say that I’ve cut down on the time I spend on social networking sites.  I was spending way too much time on them. I love keeping in touch with friends but I found that I can do that just as well in 1 hour as 4 (say it isn’t so).

My little soap gig has been fun and is slowing growing into more than a hobby. Starting April 23rd I’m going to be setting up at the Pearl Farmers’ Market here in Tulsa. Woo! All the soap I made a couple of weeks ago will be cured just in time. I’ve been working on some other products as well but don’t think I’ll be bringing them to the market just yet. I’ve been scrounging up the things I need for my space: a canopy, table and whatever else I might want in there. I’m thinking it’s going to be pretty simple to start out with. Simple is my style though, so it’s cool. Hehe.

I’ve been wanting to read more for the longest time too and realized that I was the only one keeping myself from doing it. All of my excuses for not reading were lame. If I was spending time watching TV or Facebooking, I had obviously decided that that was more important than reading. I set a goal to read a book a month to start off with. It’s been so much fun! I love getting sucked into the stories. Reading and learning are great. I read Middlesex last month (which was amazing) and just finished Cold Rock River (not bad). A friend asked me to join her book club and I was super stoked but it looks like my work schedule is going to be changing. Bummer.

The two other goals I’ve had haven’t quite been achieved but it’ll happen soon enough (cooking and exercising regularly). I’m not into pushing things lately.  It seems like the best things in life just happen when it’s the best time for them to occur. I look forward to cooking and exercising more often but I’m not going to stress out about it right now.

Finding things to look forward to is a big deal for me. I wouldn’t say I’m hugely passionate about that many things.  I’m pretty okay with whatever is going on but never really looking forward to any of it.  I think that the key to me having a happier and more fulfilling life is finding things I look forward to.  So that is what I’m working on lately.  I’m not stressing out though because I know that it’ll all happen in good time.

I’m totally with you on the “looking forward to things”. I’m the same way. I pretty much go with life however it flows… it’s good to plan stuff just so you can look ahead and think “Man I can’t wait!”
