Austin: Day One
I haven’t been taking a ton of pictures but I thought I’d upload some of Matt and his five o’clock shadow. Hehe. We spent the day wandering around the downtown area and eating. We had a lot of fun out in the sun. I actually got hot for awhile there. I guess 84 is warm enough, the sweatshirt I brought with wasn’t exactly necessary.
The first picture is outside of Starbucks on Congress Avenue. We were about a block from the capitol building, which was pretty cool. The third one is in Home Slice Pizza. It’s our favorite pizza joint to-date. Sooooo good. It was also in a pretty neat area called SoCo. The last picture was from Sushi Japon tonight. We started going out for sushi every Wednesday a few weeks ago and didn’t even realize it was Wednesday today until after we got back to the hotel. I guess we knew it was sushi time! We had BBQ at Ironworks for lunch too but I didn’t bust out the camera… woops.
Tomorrow we’re going to Ikea and some outlet stores. I’ve never been to an Ikea so I’m pretty excited to check it out. Tomorrow evening we get to hear Trey Ratcliff speak. After that we’ll be driving home through the night so that Matt can go to his Friday morning class and I can make it to work in the afternoon. I wish we had more time but it’s been a lot of fun anyway.

Ikea is wonderful and overwhelming all at the same time. The only way to make the most out of the experience is to go in with a plan and a list of what you want to buy, otherwise no one can explain the purchases you leave with
