Road trip? What road trip? Haha. We got up today and went to breakfast lunch as planned. It was just great. Rainy, dreary days are so relaxing. Matt and I discussed heading out on Route 66 but decided to wait for a sunny weekend. Instead we hung out at Shades for the afternoon.

Soap wrapperI worked on packaging for my bar soap. I’ll probably make a few minor changes but this is what I came up with. Once I get them printed, I’ll wrap some soap and put up a picture. Friday I put in our next big order of olive, coconut and palm oils. Matt and I are going to be soap making machines once we get them because we’ve also decided on which scents we are going to start out with. I say start out with because I feel like I’m taking part in some experiment. I really hope everyone likes the scents I’ve chosen but I’m prepared to try others if these don’t go over well…

We also made another decision related to scents. We initially agreed to go wholly organic, including the oil we used to scent the soap. Once I started going through everything that is offered and everything I wanted, I realized I wasn’t going to be able to do it without using some fragrance oils. I will have the ingredients on everything, so if anyone wants to steer clear of anything synthetic, they can. The ratio of fragrance to the rest of the oils used in the batch is 1:100. Seriously. There’s barely any there. I like to stay organic whenever possible but I have to say that paying $180 for a quarter ounce of organic Rose essential oil is not going to work for me (unless some weirdo special orders it!).

Matt and I watched Batman Begins tonight because apparently one should watch that before they see Dark Knight. I’m not sure why I get bugs up my bum about certain movies. I’ve made fun of Matt for liking that movie since it came out. Did I ever watch it? Nooooo. I just teased. I won a drawing at work a couple of weeks ago for a gift card to the IMAX theater. Dark Knight is still there and I knew Matt really wanted to see it. I told him that I’d like to go, even though I really didn’t. He said that I needed to watch Batman Begins first so we did that tonight. It was really good. I found myself wanting to know more. Maybe I am a comic nerd deep down, I just didn’t know it. So now I’m looking forward to Dark Knight. (Can’t even believe I’m saying that!)
